Installing Drupal

Hi,

I have flagged one of my users as "admin" and want them to have full administration capabilities but the user still does not have the full range of administration options as the site Admin.

Q1. if I edit a user's role and make them "admin" (as well as "authenticated user") what administration functions should that upgraded user have access to?

also related to users' rights:

Q2. "authenticated users" seem to have full editing rights on site content, how can I restrict this so that some users cannot edit content?

I have mysql dump of one table in CP1251 (ru-win-1251) encoding and I wanna to convert this dump to UTF8 and then export it into a drupal DB's table.

How can I convert my dump? If there any special programms or some tricks with scripts or sql-queries? :)

im having problem when i create a content page with this code which suppose to show the current weather (just as an example, i know there's a weather module):

I want to create se friendly urls by using mod_rewrite , and it works fine untill I press the link to go to the drupal admin interface, because www.example.com/admin is the link to my site's control panel and therefore it's not pointing to the drupal admin page.

Please help me with this

I installed drupal couple of days ago, everything went well until this morning. For some reason the folder was totally empty (yes! empty!) so I decide to upload all the files again and this time, protect that directory. I actually did it, but when I decide to go to the index page after editing settings.php I found the following error.

installation went very smoothly, until I tried to create the first user.

I entered the relevant details, and on the next page, right at the top, the following appears :

user error: Access denied for user: 'myusername@myhost' to database 'mydatabase'
query: LOCK TABLES sequences WRITE in /home/content/b/r/o/location/html/includes/database.mysql.inc on line 66.

Is this a known problem ? Can anyone help ?
