Installing Drupal

Can we use drupal 8 for procution usage on IIS. we will use SQL SERVER 2008 R2 as Back end. Please provide if there is any challenges to be faced

I am trying to Clone a website from Acquia Cloud to my localhost using Git.

I have managed to Clone files from Acquia Cloud using Git Extension but now I am not sure what to do to access website on localhost ?

How should I update database ?

And will this be URL of my local website localhost/drupal/docroot/ ?

These questions might be of very basic level but I am very new to Drupal so need help from community.

Error Message when installing Drupal

I am experiencing problems with multiple Drupal instances all installed on the same web server machine. The most recent installation causes previous versions to stop working. So we have www/instance1, www/instance2 and www/instance3. Only instance3 works, each time I install a new instance it causes the previous instance to break - so if I installed www/instance4 it would work but instance 3 would fail. I would stress the instances are not in the sites folder. Thanks for any help here.

This is my first ever installation of Drupal so please go gentle! I have installed it with my hosting company, TSOhost, and the following message appears when I log into Drupal.

Warning: Unterminated comment starting line 238 in /var/sites/u/ubereadoolische.com/public_html/drupal/sites/default/settings.php on line 238

Apart from that, the screen is white. Any ideas?

Hi Folks, new here. I am running Slackware 14.1, kernel 3.19.17-smp, Apache/2.4.16, drupal-7.34 currently.

I have been working with drupal for a while for my own personal consumption to get familiar with it. I have had a few sites setup and they worked fairly well and I was happy with it. I am by no means a professional, I do it to keep my brain in gear after having retired so please be kind.
