Hi,

I'm building a my first website. It's for a school. I've got all the back-end technology sorted and have been using Aquia-Marina until now. The school have provided me with a suggested design and I'm hoping to build a Zen subtheme to achieve the look they want.

I'm attempting to relocate the default search box from the navigation bar to the header on the right - i.e. top right of screen.

I have successfully edited the CSS to float the box on the right of the page and used firebug to identify the HTML responsible for placing the search box in the nav bar. I've used firebug to edit the page HTML and have successfully moved the search box to the header and it is now sitting in the correct place.

How do I make the changes permanent? Which file holds this code? In firebug, I simply cut and pasted it into the 'Header' section of code.

<div id="search-box">
              <form action="/customtheme1/" accept-charset="UTF-8" method="post" id="search-theme-form">
<div><div id="search" class="container-inline">
  <div class="form-item" id="edit-search-theme-form-1-wrapper">
 <label for="edit-search-theme-form-1">Search this site: </label>
 <input type="text" maxlength="128" name="search_theme_form" id="edit-search-theme-form-1" size="15" value="" title="Enter the terms you wish to search for." class="form-text">
</div>
<input type="submit" name="op" id="edit-submit-1" value="Search" class="form-submit">
<input type="hidden" name="form_build_id" id="form-a5a1aee90aacbc5d8fb70efa8a137f7b" value="form-a5a1aee90aacbc5d8fb70efa8a137f7b">
<input type="hidden" name="form_token" id="edit-search-theme-form-form-token" value="7ba9307fa6420439a2d932336ea9f753">
<input type="hidden" name="form_id" id="edit-search-theme-form" value="search_theme_form">
</div>

</div></form>
            </div>

Thanks,

Rob

Hi,

Sorry, worked out what to do.

1) Copied the 'page.tpl.php' file from the 'zen' folder to my subtheme folder
2) Moved the following code:

         <?php if ($search_box): ?>
            <div id="search-box">
              <?php print $search_box; ?>
            </div> <!-- /#search-box -->
          <?php endif; ?>

from below:
<a name="navigation" id="navigation"></a>

to below:
<div id="header"><div id="header-inner" class="clear-block">

Thanks,

Rob
