Create two new regions under the Navigation Bar region

I've been trying to add 2 new regions under the Navigation Bar region, with the intent of containing two Nice Menu's.

In a nutshell, I am trying to add a left and "everything else" regions to put nice menus in. I've done the easy stuff - added it to the theme .info, etc.. however..

I want to position these two regions side-by-side under the navigation bar (heck, it could replace the navigation bar..)

But I can't get them to position right.

Any suggestions?
