I am working on a site that has one complex content type with a lot of filtered textareas and a colleague decided to uncheck the "enable by default" on all filters because the page was a bit heavy with all of the rich-text instances there.
That was fine until I was working with a content type that has only one body field and I actually needed the rich text editor and it annoyed me a bit.
I know this can also be set on a per user basis, but I think it might be a nice feature to be able to override the default state of the editor on a per field basis. You could have a configuration option for filtered text fields in which you have "Default behavior", "Enable by default", "Disabled by default" or something like that

twodYeah, that would be nice, but we currently load all parameters and settings once per-format, which is why this hasn't happened yet. Getting per-field overrides in is planned for 3.x, but there's been little time over to actually work on it yet.
