johnvIf you create a relationship to the needed workflowState, you can have selections on qny State property. This is the new Views behaviour since 3.3. Indeed, without this relationship, you are stuck with the text field.

rbrownell@johnv Thanks for your help. For some reason when I create a View of ECK entities none of the workflow field (or any other fields) do not show up as an option in the relationship section. Perhaps this is a bug elsewhere in another module?

rbrownellYes, this is still an issue. I created a group filter with reference to the transition ID number and it does filter fine until you expose the filter and tell the view to remember the selection. When you return to the view it gives an Illegal Choice error (which is actually an unrelated views bug (#2292467: Exposed filters fire "An illegal choice has been detected. Please contact the site administrator." error). It would be nice however not to have to create a group filter.

johnvThere are several issues open when you create a view, and the base entity is not a Node.
The following contain patches:
#2318575: Workflow filter sql error in field_collection views
#2173853: Cannot create a View of workflow history log and comments

SandraVdv commentedI also have this issue. The issues mentioned in #5 don't seem to provide a fix for this?
#2318575: Workflow filter sql error in field_collection views: still joins with the workflow_node_history table which isn't used by custom entities...
#2173853: Cannot create a View of workflow history log and comments: also about nodes?
Anyone that can help us find a solution?

johnvViews support for non-nodes was not implemented before. This is now fixed in #2400211: Add Views support for non-node entity types
