AFAIKR the weblinks module is discontinued after 4.6. We should move to the links bundle! there is a weblinks module in there already.

The links bundle didnt change in CVS since 4/5 months, when i checked it on cvs last time, it didnt work.

weblink hasn't changed either. and the 4.6 version of this module was meant as a stepstone towards the " link" bundle!

I've posted a similar patch (though it's far from completed) on the links.module project. It's a bit more complex though, and in the meantime I thought this patch would be useful. :)

thank you for the effort. But weblink will not be released for 4.7. use links instead.

Ber, we have an interest in continuing to maintain weblinks. Would you be willing to give up maintainership to Eaton or someone else?

But why? Everything this module does is node much better in links bundle. There is even a conversion script in there.
so unless you can tell me why this module is needed, and is not cruft on top of a much better approach, then i will let it die.

Boris, having used the links bundle for a while I do think it's more than functionally equivalent to weblinks, unless you need to run on 4.6. In particular, the 'weblink' module that's now bundled with links.module is meant to exactly duplicate it. Have you had a chanceto check it out in the last two months? It's evolved a lot since December...
