guschilds commentedHave you enabled the "Legacy Browser Support" option on the configuration settings? It must be enabled for hints to work in older browsers.
This option can be found at admin/config/content/webform-hints.

qqboy commentedin my memory it s like this
ie78 does not have placeholder effect
i mean attribute placeholder does not work in ie78
so can webform-hints work around it?
i think i chosen legacy browser support.
so you mean if i chosen
then the placeholder attribute will work ?
thanks for reply.

guschilds commentedCorrect. IE9 and below don't support the input placeholder attribute.
This module uses a jQuery plugin that will produce a similar effect for browsers without support.
In addition to having the module enabled, you'll need to:
* install the plugin/library specified by the module (see README.txt)
* enable the "Legacy Browser Support" option on admin/config/content/webform-hints
After taking these steps, placeholders should work in browsers without support.
Let me know if that doesn't solve the problem.

qqboy commentedthank you very much sir
in my memory even i chose legacy support and library installed still the place-holder is not working in ie67.
maybe i am wrong.
i shall try it later. if some one used your good module and also have the placeholder effect in ie67, hope them who succeeded can give me positive signal.
thanks for your warm and prompt response. thanks a lot.
i shall try more later. thanks.

guschilds commentedUsing the legacy support options outlined in the README and in this issue will add IE7 & IE8 compatibility to the placeholder hints used by this module.
