Hi,
I want to report something that happens when building a webform that I consider to be a bug. Here is how to recreate it:
- Enable webform UI
- Make a new webform
- Go to the build tab
- Add a section or wizard element
- Add another element inside the previous element
- Save elements
- Move the element outside the section/wizard
- Delete the section/wizard and confirm
Observe that the element that was moved outside the section/wizard also gets deleted. You can get around it by saving elements between the last two steps. I would still call it a bug since it can really impact the user experience if someone loses a large amount of data because they're a little careless. You would need to inspect the deletion message quite carefully to realize that more elements will be deleted than what you intended.
I would suggest that a fix warns the user that there are unsaved changes right after the delete button is clicked. I also think it would be fine to automatically update the other elements before deleting, but someone with more experience should consider if that is an acceptable solution.
If this should be labeled as a feature request, feel free to override the category.

jrockowitz commentedThe delete element dialog includes a list of sub-elements being deleted.
I do not see an easy way to track if a sub element has been moved and warn users.
If someone can provide a patch, I will review it.
