I have a similar case to this issue . I need a user to be able to submit a webform (it is a booking form for events) maximum 3 times for a specific date interval (E.g. from 01/01/2018 to 01/01/2019) and in 52 weeks as it is now. Is it possible to achieve that with webforms or in combination with some other modules like rules e.g. or do I need to customize the core module code? In the last case I thought that date fields could be integrated to SUBMISSION LIMITS in submissions settings. Would that be a good approach?

I do not know of any contrib modules out there that can do this.

You could write a custom handler that sets a user submission limits between a specified date range.
