Hi there,

We recently had to migrate our site to a new server. The site (using Drupal 7.34) works fine in most aspects. Since the migration, however, our webforms (7.x-4.1) have stopped working properly in two ways.

The most important is that, while the form records submissions from users, it won't send it's notification emails to our staff. No test email works at all. Our logs record the following two error messages:

  1. page not found: CFIDE/h.cfm
  2. Notice: Undefined index: link_path in include() (line 28 of /home/mysite/public_html/sites/default/themes/mysite_adaptive/templates/menu-block-wrapper--main-menu.tpl.php).

Of secondary importance; we cannot update our forms to send to new email addresses. No updating works at all; the Edit Email Settings page on which we try this simply refreshes without any error message or confirmation, and the exisiting "Email To" emails are unchanged.

Any idea what causes this?

First, 4.2 is out now.

Second, are you using some webform-related modules that aren't compatible with 7.x-4.x?

By googling, it seems you #1 problem is related to cold fusion (?!).

I think you need to debug what's going on. Can you send any e-mail? Maybe the mail setup isn't working right.

I recommend that you migrate the software that was last working on your old server (same version), then update core and modules one at a time, testing after each one.

Good luck.

Thanks for the quick response.

To the best of my knowledge, we aren't using webform-incompatible modules, since before migration everything was working swimmingly.

I agree that a "*.cfm" extension would suggest Cold Fusion, but I have no idea why Drupal would trap that error- this was captured in the Drupal error logs.

We have a server specialist who set up the new host server. I've informed him, and am feeding him information as he requests it. We have no active contributed modules which actually handle email (no Drupal PHP Mailer, HTML Mail, etc.), so I'm assuming that we simply calling sendmail on the host machine- is that probably correct? Is there a part of the Drupal 7 admin interface where I go to set up an email connection for the installation?

Sounds like mail isn't set up on the server. I recommend PHP Mailer and, if you want HTML, mimemail. Plus Mail System.

This is outside the scope of the webform issue queue at this point.

That makes sense- it was the way my thinking was going, but I had to cover my bases. I'll try to update what I find out.

Resolved; the problem was (unknown to me) that our server isn't ours alone, and doesn't let websites call sendmail. We installed the SMTP Authentication module, and configured the server to allow outgoing SMTP mail. Hopefully this will help someone else. Thank you.
