Now I really like this module and feel it is a perfect media manager for Drupal. The only feature I miss is to open zip files there in webfm folder after uploading it. If somehow this feature could be included it would be fantastic and I wont need to go cpanel's final manager for uploading zip files and decompressing it for easy workout f large number of files.

Might be possible but some top of mind design issues to deal with are:

Security... zips can create directories so this function should be tied to the right to create directories.

Adding the files to the DB after (or as) they are unzipped. Webfm uses a database table entry for each file. This gets created when the file is uploaded. You can't just call unzip, you have to figure out what files got added.

Deciding what level to make this optional at. E.g., you may want some zip files to be unzipped but you may want some to stay zipped as downloads. Maybe this becomes another ajax function that is available via right click? E.g., upload a zip, right click, select unzip for the ones you want.

How to deal with existing files. E.g., if a zip file has files that already exist in the directory structure, what do you do with them? Overwrite, rename original, and the like. Do we need to care about ownership here? E.g., user A uploads "My.File"... user B upload a zip that contains My.File... should A's file be overwritten?

Just some thoughts if anyone has the time to add this.

Adam, if you find someone that is fit in coding I will be happy to include this. There have been tries to achieve this like this one here: #296064: Misc patches (Unzip, AttachDir, User Directories)
