Hey, I was having the hardest time getting Views Slideshow 6.x-2.0-beta2 to work. It would display the first image with Previous, Pause/Resume, and Next links but images would not cycle and links were useless. I eventually tracked the problem down to a conflict with Devel's Theme developer 6.x-1.18. Apologies if this has been previously documented, but I have not seen it listed. Hope this tip saves someone a little time. Blessings! -NP

Devel themer does some unholy things to the page. It conflicts with numerous modules and layouts. Unfortunately I'll have to mark as won't fix.
