I have a views slideshow that is based on a taxonomy vocab and is displaying an image from each of the terms - basically a rotation of images representing the product groups. This is working fine but the client would like to add a product into the same slideshow.
The slideshow is being used to create a promotion area on the front page and hence I would like to merge the taxonomy fields and normal custom data type fields in the one slideshow. I cant see this is possible as i need to select either taxonomy terms or content fields when the view is created and this removes access to fields of the other - is there a way around this?

With view relationships you may be able to (though without knowing your exact site setup can't say a hard yes or no).
