Varbase AI Media Base

AI image and SVG generation for Varbase, in one step. This recipe sets up the AI Media module so editors generate images and SVGs right from the Media Library: the Image and SVG Image tabs each start with an Upload | ✦ Generate with AI switch.

What the recipe sets up

• Generated media go into your existing media types: images into Image, SVGs into SVG Image. No extra media types, so image styles, view modes, Featured image fields and Insert Media keep working.
• SVG Image in Insert Media for the Full HTML text format.
• Permissions for Content editor, Content admin and Site admin: generate media with AI, and create Image and SVG Image media.
• No custom PHP or shell code: only modules and config actions.

What editors get, with AI Media 1.0.0-beta1

• A tidy form: an empty description, Examples to start from, and the AI disclosure behind an info button.
• Name and alternative text written by AI from the generated image, with the AI Image Alt Text button and Focal Point working on the result.
• Static or animated SVGs, sanitized, and the Animated SVG component for Canvas.
• Nothing saved until the editor reviews and saves.

Requirements

• Drupal 11.4 or later and AI Media 1.0.0-beta1 or later (installed by Composer).
• Default AI providers in Drupal AI settings for text to image (images) and chat (SVGs). Varbase AI Base requires the Gemini and ElevenLabs providers, so Gemini's image model is one setting away.

Best used with Varbase Starter site template.

Can be installed with any Drupal CMS ~2.0 or Drupal Core ~11 site. Even if installed with the Minimal or Standard profile.

However, using it with Varbase gives you way much more cool stuff!
