hi, thanks for the module.
under admin/user/user_selectable_roles theres the option to specify whether users get to choose their role in registration, or on registration and in account settings. I would like my users to be authenticated users on initial sign up and have the option to change in acount settings only.

Is this possible?

To disable role selection during registration (but allow it during account editing) change line 179 in user_selectable_roles.module to the following (untested):

        if (variable_get('user_selectable_roles_editing', 0) && $category == 'account') {

what should the line be originally? should I enable Registration and user account forms?

i tried it, uninstalled the module, enabled the module with the line changed, but nothing changed

Let's try this again. Change line 179 in user_selectable_roles.module to the following:

        if ($account->uid && variable_get('user_selectable_roles_editing', 0) && $category == 'account') {

Then on the User-selectable roles settings page (admin/user/user_selectable_roles) set "Provide user-selectable roles editing" to "Registration and user account forms" although with line 179 modified as above the role selection checkboxes will not appear on the registration page.

That should do it.
