I have a profile with custom fields (some are read-only, some are not). When I attempt to modify such a profile, the read-only fields appears grey and unmodifiable (sounds relevant) while the others may be modify. The problem raises when I want to submit the form, I get an error saying that I am not authorized to edit the read-only fields.

pvasener commentedThanks for the new release which corrects this bug. Nevertheless, I have a warning which appears now on every page:
Warning: Call-time pass-by-reference has been deprecated - argument passed by value; If you would like to pass it by reference, modify the declaration of [runtime function name](). If you would like to enable call-time pass-by-reference, you can set allow_call_time_pass_reference to true in your INI file. However, future versions may not support this any longer. in /var/home/drupal/public_web/drupal/modules/contrib/user_readonly/user_readonly.module on line 102

pvasener commented...and it's easily corrected by replacing &$user with $user (i.e. getting rid of the reference) at line 102.

doublejosh commentedYou can change the settings for those form elements just like the proper inputs.
Little weird, but it works. http://drupal.org/node/1175356#comment-6095910
