You should be able to take most or all definitions from https://www.drupal.org/glossary
The current file glossary.txt has example definitions for CMS, Content Management System, and LAMP to use as examples. Follow that format.

jhodgdonWe decided to use separate issues for each phase of writing/editing.

jhodgdonHi! Just letting you know that the Topic Tracking spreadsheet now has a column called "Glossary Entries Needed". This lists, for each topic, some thoughts on what entries might be useful to have in the glossary related to that topic. You may want to use that as a guide to which entries to create. Thanks!

jhodgdon@ifrik - do you still plan to work on this, or should we open it up to someone else?
ifrikSorry,
I'm swamped with other tasks at the moment, so if anybody else wants to work on this, that would be great
Comment #5
jhodgdonOK. I've updated the spreadsheet, and also am updating the issue summary...
Actually I think I'll go ahead and take this on. The format for this file is a bit difficult.
jhodgdonI completed the first draft of the glossary. It was kind of tricky to get the formatting right so it would compile with AsciiDoc. So, I decided to go ahead and commit the change to the repository, since it will be easier to review on the site:
https://userguide_new-drupal.dev.devdrupal.org/d8guide/en/glossary.html
(I will put the output up there momentarily, along with other content that was added recently.)
Please take a look. It should contain all the definitions needed in the "Glossary entries needed" column of the spreadsheet, plus maybe a few more that came up as dependencies of those definitions.

jhodgdonI propose that we keep this issue open until we are sure we don't need more glossary entries - some may come up as we write other topics. Anyway... it's up on the site now. Enjoy. :)

jhodgdonTerm to add to the glossary: Wizard
Comment #12
jhodgdonI added the Wizard topic. I also went through the list of all glossary entries that were suggested by topics, and we're very close to being done with the topic list. So, I think (with the changes I have just made and committed to the guide) we can call this one done... at least until the testing phase.
