Text Block

This module provides the ability to create blocks with formatted text. The created blocks are exportable configuration objects.

Can also be used within Layout Builder.

Difference to other solutions

Core's Custom Block module provides the creation of arbitrary custom blocks of a fieldable content entity type. On the contrary, the Text Block module only provides one input field per block as simple config objects for inserting some custom text / markup using a certain filter format.

The Simple Block module provides exportable text blocks too, but realizes it with extensible configuration entities.

Complementary modules

Since a text block solely provides a simple input for formatted text, you can extend the abilities by adding further input filters (some should only be added for trusted users only). Examples:
