I installed the necessary modules for time tracking and went to create content, chose a menu title, and there are no fields only the revision info, URL path settings comment settings, etc. What am I supposed to do? I checked permissions.
I went into the main module and I see where I can enter info, but the fields there are mostly not necessary. the dashboard reordering of links means absolutely nothing to me. Where are all the docs?
What I'm trying to do is to track hours of use for different machines, including daily, weekly and monthly and grand total.

dbt102 commentedOne way may look like the following...
Create a Project called Equipment Usage
Create a Task for each piece of equipment (i.e. task1 is Track Backhoe Usage, task2 is Track Tractor Usage, etc)
Create a Ticket for each job the equipment is used on (i.e. Ticket 1 is Land Development Job #1, etc)
Then each day the equipment is used for the Job track its time accordingly, describing what was accomplished, maybe log progress with pictures, etc.
It would be best to use D6 at this point, until D7 storm is developed a bit more.

ricksta commentedThank you, sounds like a clear plan to me. I already have the site in D7 though. If the D7 version of Storm is not ready, is there another module(s) I should be using?

dbt102 commentedYou are welcome. There is of court more than one way to do it.
I love the Storm module because, when I think about doing projects, I've been trained to think about them in terms of work breakdown structures (WBS) - kind of a formal stoic approach to project management that I think just plain works. However for your particular case, if you learned how to work with the core Fields features of D7, you could come up with your own home baked solution for managing equipment.
The best way forward of course it to learn Storm though and help contribute to the development of the D7 version.
