We have hundreds of project managers, and many of them are contractors that are only present for the duration of a single project. Rather than manage each project manager as a "person object" we would like to be able to simply type in the name of the project manager.
We do realize that this would create inconsistencies, IE James vs. Jim vs. james vs. jIM etc.

We can live with that. =)

Considering that a text field wouldn't have the attached functionality wrt access etc., the best way is just to add a CCK field for this, outside of Storm.
