Hello,

Just installed open social using composer and when I create a new content type using the administrator user created by the installer I cannot edit or add fields to the content type, nor I can edit the ones from the existing ones. Is tehre any option I need to activate or is this a bug?

Thanks

After some playing I discover that the module Field UI is disabled by dealt, without it you cannot alter the fields of any content type. Maybe it should be active by default?

Hi Huma,

Thanks for your interest in Open Social and opening up this issue.
Great to see you found your way to the field_ui module.

The reason we don't enable this by default is because we don't want to enforce people with these settings out of the box.
It's mainly used for people who want to add on Open Social, while it's perfectly fine to download the product without enabling the module. We like to keep it as light as possible out of the box ;).

Just for your information, we will be working on developer documentation in the near future and we will be sure to mention this in there. So at least there are some helpful guidelines on how to work with the Distro and add your own features on top of this.

Hope that will help!
