Cannot manipulate #simplemenu with jQuery $(document).ready() [#744180]

For whatever reason I cannot manipulate #simplemenu elements from outside of simplemenu.js .

I have tried using Module Weights to load my module after Simple Menu, to no avail.

If use the jQuery code inside of simplemenu.js, it works.

Did you try the -dev version? It does not use the $(document) anymore...
