1. In IE6 & IE7 both (also in Mozilla's SeaMonkey 1.1.4), SimpleMenu 5.x-5.0 leaves a large gap of space between the top of the page & the menu itself. It does not snap to the top of the page as in previous versions using IE7 (& SeaMonkey). Occasionally, the menu will snap to the top on some page loads (e.g. sometimes when I click on the website title to return to the home page, the SimpleMenu will be snapped to the top), but it is not a lasting effect for subsequent page loads as I'm navigating my website.
2. If you like, I can make this a separate "minor" bug report: There is a small gap between the top-level menu items & the second-level menu items. This is not a big deal, as it is not very noticeable & does not impair the functionality of the menu interface. Everything else seems to fit together tightly & looks solid.
Additional specs: I'm using XP Media Center Edition, Drupal 5.3, & the "barlow" theme.
BTW, Thank you very much for updating SimpleMenu to fix IE6 issues! That is why I upgraded to version SimpleMenu 5.

drewvancamp commentedI've noticed that this is not the case for all themes, but I do not know the cause in order to compensate w/ a fix. Am I attaching the menu incorrectly (by default) as a prepend to the body element? Is there an alternative attach setting that I can try? (Nothing comes to mind.)
