I have turned on the RSS category module, set the RSS Display Format for my category tags to "RSS Category". Then I flushed all caches, added a couple of posts, re-ran cron, and waited a few hours. However, mysite.com/rss.xml still lumps the tags into the "description" field.

mfbI cannot reproduce this bug.
You should check if rss.xml is being generated by a view (if so you'll need to configure the display for the view).

ADrupalUser CreditAttribution: ADrupalUser commentedI'm not generating rss using a view. After some more testing, I noticed that if I create a separate RSS display for my content type and set the format to 'RSS category', nothing happens. However, if I set the default display format to 'RSS category', then the categories disappear from my main content, but they start appearing in RSS.
I can't seem to have the categories work in both main content and RSS feed, it's either/or.

mfbCan you reproduce this bug using Drupal core on its own? Or is it caused by some combination of contrib modules (Views, Display Suite, Entity View Modes, etc. etc.)?
