Hi,

This module is great for our site.

I have tested it to allow users with an email address to be assigned a certain role on registration. This works and the user sees the on-screen message saying they have been pre-approved.

However, the user settings are set so that admin-approval is required for users and the user does not receive the approval email, even though RegisterPreApproved has set their status as "active" and their role as "member".

They only receive the "pending approval" email.

Have I missed something in the settings?

I also have LoginToboggan installed, but with nothing obvious that should clash with this module.

Register Pre-approved is only responsible for role assignment and activation of pre-approved e-mail addresses. It doesn't (to the best of my knowledge) interfere or change the notification behavior of the user settings. I would recommend you disable each third-party module one-by-one and test the notification system incrementally until you identify the module responsible.

We had a similar problem a few days ago http://drupal.org/node/730718
We are running logintoboggan too.
In our case, we had a public portion of the site and a private interior. I wanted preapproved people to self-register and automatically get into the interior. They would be going from "anonymous user" to "authenticated user" which had the perms to view private content. I have "Visitors can create accounts but administrator approval is required" set in user settings.
But it wasn't working.

For a fix, I demoted "authenticated user" to be an intermediate role, the "Non-authenticated role:" in Logintoboggan. Those unknown self-registrants aren't able to view the private content.
Then I set up a new role for preapproved people, "Member" which had the perms to view private content (set with content_access).

So far I think it's working.

...

Hope this rambling note is of some help - I haven't fully tested the system and would fail a quiz on it, but wanted to get it out before you go through the tedium of disabling modules.

I don't think this will solve the notification issue described in the original message, but I agree with your configuration: assign your private permissions to a custom role and not authenticated.

Hi,

The problem exists as explained in first post.

The user gets assigned correct role with active status under Users list in User Management, but do not receive pre-approved email.
To send the email confirmation message I have to block that user and then unblock.

Please help, it is urgent.

Tried all the tips in above posts.

Thanks!

Hello,

In order to reproduce the problem please provide more details including the user settings (admin/user/settings).

Got the solution,

Login to Bogan was disturbing the original working of Drupals core user system for notifications.

Thanks & for the reply!
