Hello and thank you for this lovely module.
We found that using this module in combination with LoginToboggan and Who can register accounts? set to "Visitors, but administrator approval is required" (admin/config/people/accounts page). The following occurs
1) confusing status messages are output, typically something like:
""You have been pre-approved and granted access to MYSITE” (coming from this module), immediately followed by
"Thank you for applying for an account. Your account is currently pending approval by the site administrator.
Once it has been approved, you will receive an e-mail containing further instructions." (coming from LoginToboggan, overriding an identical core message)
2) The wrong email gets sent:
"Thank you for registering at MYSITE. Your application for an account is currently pending approval. Once it has been approved, you will receive another e-mail containing information about how to log in, set your password, and other details."
The email that provides the one-time login link isn't sent, so the user is unable to ever login, even though their account has been activated.
The attached patch fixes the LoginToboggan integration.
All it does is to temporarily variable_set('user_register', USER_REGISTER_VISITORS); to get around LoginToboggan's peculiarities in processing the registration form and make it act consistently with what Register-Preapporved does. After submission of the form it sets the flag back to what it was.

johnhanley commentedClosing this issue (won't fix), but perhaps the patch will be useful for those looking to specifically integrate Register Pre-approved with LoginToboggan.
Thanks.
