etron770 commentedfound it with try and error but there is no link to
/admin/people/register_preapproved
Comment #2
JoachimF commentedI get an access denied message when trying to access admin/people/register_preapproved - can;t find admin interface anywhere. Any ideas? I've tried the latest release and the dev version.
etron770 commentedDid you set the
Register Pre-approved and Choose Pre-Approved permissions to your role?
johnhanley commentedIf the current user is not logged in as admin (account #1) s/he must have 'administer pre-approved patterns' permission assigned to a custom role (i.e. presumably something other than authenticated.)
Outside of that I can't think of reason that would prevent an authorized user from accessing admin/people/register_preapproved.
marranca commentedI'm having the same issue. I can confirm I am logged in as an administrator - but not as account #1. Is the initial permission tied to the account # rather than the administrator role?
(I can grant/remove the permissions associated with this module under admin/people/permissions - I just can't actually find/view the configuration options. I receive the same access denied message as the others when I try to manually access that path).
jdcollier commentedSame issue here. I'm on the lastest dev branch of 7.
Everything works just fine for user 1, but no permissions seem to work for other users. I created a super admin role and checked every permission possible, then assigned that role to a test user, logged in as that test user and I still do not have permission to /admin/people/register_preapproved ... I get access denied.
I need to allow my user administrator to control preapproved email domains.
Any ideas how to get this to work?
johnhanley commentedHi Chris,
As the maintainer of the Drupal 7 branch, I'm assigning this issue to you.
Could you take a quick peek?
Thanks,
John
Comment #8
KeyboardCowboySorry for the delay. I'll get in there as soon as possible. Been swamped lately.
etron770 commentedI can only access the admin Interface as user UID 1 .
The permissions are not working - I can also not access the admin interface when I am user 1+ with admin rrights - then I get the 404 error
Comment #10
nwom commentedI'm having the same issue. The permissions do not work sadly.
johnhanley commentedHi guys.
I've been busy of late, but I will try and find time in the few days to take a look at this.
I'm sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your patience.
Cheers,
John

zekvyrin commentedThe bug has a pretty simple solution actually.
The access argument for 'admin/people/register_preapproved' page was wrongly 'administer pre-approved patterns' although permission's machine name (as declared in hook_permission) was 'administer pre-approved'.
Here is a patch fixing it.
I still believe that there should be a link from people management page (or another configuration page) to role pre-approved management page..

johnhanley commented@Zekvyrin,
Thanks for the patch!
Your synopsis of the problem is correct. The permission in hook_menu doesn't jive with hook_permission.
The problem is once this is corrected a nasty bug in one of the queries is exposed. At the time of my diagnosis I didn't have the time to debug.
Maybe I wasn't using the latest dev version. Did you or anyone else experience this?
John
Comment #15
zekvyrin commentedI patched the 7.x-1.0-beta2 (7.x-1.x-dev is exactly the same. No difference in code) and no I didn't have any issues.
It's not in a prod site yet, and I haven't done any testing with "real" data yet. Will do so soon.

johnhanley commentedFixed in 7.x-1.0 release. Thank you!
