Hi,
I can't find how to increase the screen resolution in Quickstart. I can go full screen, turn on and off scaling but can't find the
part for the resolution.
thanks

Mechanical Fruit commentedAlso while I have you , The performance seems very sluggish. Will it really be like this if I set it up as a boot ?
In another post Mike says the performance gains will be negligible
I have Quad core processor 4gb of ram and windows 7. I have seen Drupal videos mostly made on Macs with incredible
snappy speeds in the Admin. Should I consider going MAC for drupal developing ?

Mechanical Fruit commentedAlso I am a bit of a Linux noob. Can I create a boot partition from quickstart ?

mike stewart commentedHmm, you should be able to go full screen with current setup -- even dual monitor. It sounds like possibly a version conflict with guest additions or something? I'm not certain without knowing more about your actual setup (OS version & specs / Virtualbox version, etc).
I suggest using Virtualbox 4.1.14 (possibly 4.1.12) ... I'm not sure the guest additions of the latest (4.1.16) work with Ubuntu. https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Download_Old_Builds_4_1
Regarding performance ... youll likely get the best performance with a good 3D card and lots of RAM, I'd suggest giving 50% to quickstart. I'm running on a i7 ultrabook with 4gb -- hich allows me to give 4CPU's and 1920MB of RAM to Quickstart. The performance is pretty snappy -- even with only 1GB. But if you're on a machine with only 2GB RAM, this might not work well.
That said, we're still looking at how to minimze performance requirements ... even considering another desktop environment such as LXDE or XFCE which have much fewer requirements (and obviously lose some nice GUI additions, as well).
I'm also need to experiment with the image ... possibly can't use the virtual kernel and get 3D working ...

MichaelCole commentedHey Mechanical Fruit, the best way to increase performance is with an SSD drive. Disk IO is the killer.
Otherwise, hit ctrl-f to go fullscreen. If the virtualbox guest additions are working it will resize automatically.
Good luck!
