Checkboxes are already available with the existing Profile module. I'm not sure I understand what this module adds, but it would be nice if lists could be transformed into the elusive and sought after radio buttons instead, which as of yet requires this patch: http://drupal.org/node/91041.

It might also be useful to create a multipicklist option sometime.

You're confusing a single checkbox (for a true/false response) with multiple checkboxes (for one or more value selections).

The default core profile module lacks a way to capture multiple value selections. This module attempts to address this deficiency. I personally dislike multi select list boxes and find them awkward to use, which is why I opted to implement multiple checkboxes instead.

It's true the core profile module also lacks radio buttons, but at least there's list selection. That said, adding radio buttons could be accomplished the same way and I might consider adding an option for them if there's enough interest.
