I am using Drupal Commons, which relies on Context to render user profile pages (e.g. users/%username). Context does not actually render the user, but inserts various blocks and views into specific regions on that page.

Profile Checkboxes however seems to insert the rendered link list into the $account->content property through the profile_checkboxes_profile_alter() hook, which eventually gets rendered on top of the views blocks provided by commons profile. I would like to see fields provided by this module to respect some display setting, so these fields can be used with Context.

This is an interesting and reasonable suggestion. My current professional obligations preclude me from implementing it myself, but a patch is always welcome.
