No idea what happened, but the super admin on a site I have Profile on, can't see or edit its own profile...

When trying to view the page, I'm presented with the error:

You are not authorized to access this page.

Ummm... UID 1 is blocked from seeing stuff that only UID 1 has full access too??

I tried viewing the profile with another account, but was met with the same error.

See screenshot for example

Small possibility this might be related to: hide_revision_field ?

I also have the same problem, but only when Allow multiple profiles per user is enabled in /admin/config/people/profile-types/manage/MY_PROFILE_TYPE.

Everything seems to be OK when this Allow multiple profiles per user checkbox is not enabled.

Experiencing this bug aswell once I disable multiple profiles per user this works again.

See and what's odd is that I don't have "Allow multiple profiles per user" enabled...

Start by unchecking all roles on your profile type screen. The ProfileAccessControlHandler logic only kicks in if at least one role is selected. If unchecking all roles doesn't change anything, the bug is not in ProfileAccessControlHandler, and is caused by a different module.

I think I found a decent workaround that could end up this issue with a "works as designed".
For me, it's just about multiple profiles, ie when the ALLOW MULTIPLE PROFILES is set to Yes in /admin/config/people/profile-types.
Here is what I did, and I hope this use case can help solve this issue.

First My Problem : after updating to 8.x-1.0, a "You are not authorized to access this page." message was dispalyed on /user/USER_ID/MY_PROFILE page, and the Add New Profile button had disappeared.

Then My Solution (or Workaround) in a few steps
1 - Go to /admin/people/permissions, search for "MY_PROFILE" and enable MY_PROFILE: Create profiles for the roles owning MY_PROFILE profiles
2 - Migrate the page /user/USER_ID/MY_PROFILE to the new /user/USER_ID/MY_PROFILE/add. That means migrating all the Blocks to this new URL and updating the menu links as well. You will notice the Save button appears here.
3 - Extra : add a Tab group field in /admin/config/people/profile-types/manage/MY_PROFILE/form-display. This way, the user can be show her existing MY_PROFILE profiles on the top of the page in a Block and expand the tab when she wants to add a new MY_PROFILE profile.
