I installed the module and it works great!

When an image file is uploaded, I'd like to display a thumbnail, and give the user the ability to enter a label and an alt tag.

What is the best way to do this?

This module provides only Plupload integration. Everything else is done in some other module (File entity, FileField sources, ... - see list on this module's project page). You should check which of those are you using and check in their issue queue.
