Template engine not using the watchdog error log

The template engine dumps the error "PHPTemplate was instructed to override the news_page_order_info theme function, but no valid template file was found." to the browser display where the page should be rendered.

I feel this would be better placed in the watchdog.modules 'error' log, to prevent it being displayed by mistake on a live site.
