the integration with commerce.module it's an interesting feature but till now i used this e-commerce suite only for testing purposes and not in real life projects.
Moreover, I don't find much documentation on how to convert an ubercart product feature in a commerce.module counterpart.
The only link I found is http://www.drupalcommerce.org/discussions/734/porting-ubercart-product-f... maybe the method of using fields explained there, is the right way to implement this feature.
More information or snippets of code are welcome to build a starting point.
If there will be more requests of this feature, i'll be happy to find some time for its development.
