Which successor module would you choose if there isn't an upgrade path.

For a simple OpenID provider, try Loginza (by Yandex.ru)...
I wouldn't recommend the uLogin module... something about the way it redirects looks fishy.

Although there's not one solid product.... you might be better off using individual twitter, facebook connect modules or pay for a commercial product, such as Janrain or oneall (free while in beta)

There's a bunch more lil' modules... but I didn't include them because they're currently unfinished or broken.
