The jquery_interface module is not compatible with the latest version of jquery update - which is needed for other modules to work. Any plans on updating this module to latest version of Jquery and Jquery_interface independence?

No. Use jQuery Update 5.x.1.0.

Patches welcome, though.

Problems may arise using jQuery Interface with jQuery Update 5.x.2.
