Set $comment->thread if not using threading [#758010]

As per #757288: Optimize comment_save(), we should set this property since we can do it quickly and save a query in comment_save().

Moshe, I recall starting to look at this and being a bit flummoxed by that thread field - exactly how do we populate it? How can we do it more quickly in the general case (i.e., without assuming we're migrating the comments from scratch and all in one import run)?
