Support for drupal 8

We have created a sandbox with the module converted to drupal8: https://drupal.org/sandbox/friera/2181413

I have updated the module to the new drupal 8 coding standards in the sandbox repository https://www.drupal.org/sandbox/friera/2181413.
Can you please create a new branch for the 8 version? If you want I can be a new maintainer of the module.

+1 - I've reviewed the sandbox module and it is perfect - great job @friera

@friera given you've had no response since January - I think you should follow the steps in https://www.drupal.org/node/251466 'dealing with abandoned projects' and formally apply to take over as maintainer

Finally they gave me access to the repository. Thanks for that!
