I am trying to authenticate against an ActiveDirectory server. I have the DN for non-anonymous search set as:

Test@MUVBD.LOCAL

I get "Authentication with the LDAP server succeeded." when I test, so I know I am doing SOMETHING right.

I can't get Test to be able to login to the site however.

I am using port 389 and no Start-TLS
I am using the following as my Base DN: cn=Users,dn=MUVBD,dn=LOCAL
I am using sAMAccountName

I have tried logging in with username:

Test
Test@MUVBD.LOCAL
Test Test (FirstName LastName)

I have tried with the Base DN empty, without the cn=Users, with ou=Users, but nothing works.

I am SO close. Any help would be so greatly appreciated.

I just realized, when I click the Test button under advanced configuration I get the same "Authentication with the LDAP server succeeded." message even if the DN and password are blank. I guess that means my server allows anonymous searches. So now I don't know what I need to use for a username at all. Am I using the right format?

I am having the same issue. I can get the Authentication notification to come up. But whatever I use does not allow me to login to the drupal site with LDAP credentials.

I finally got mine to work. It was an issue of the correct Base DN settings:
cn=Users,dc=MYDOMAIN,dc=COM

And then just use the regular username to log into drupal
