After upgrading to beta 12, i saw that i needed to enable permissions for:

1) execute ImageCache: Flush ALL presets for this node's filefield images (imagecache_flush_action)
2) ImageCache: Generate ALL presets for this node's filefield images (imagecache_generate_all_action)
3) execute ImageCache: Generate configured preset(s) for this node's filefield images (imagecache_generate_action)

This gave me the 'An illegal choice has been detected. Please contact the site administrator' errorand the permissions didn't get saved.

The log entry shows this:
1) Illegal choice execute ImageCache: Generate configured preset(s) for this node\'s filefield images (imagecache_generate_action) in 4 element.
2) Illegal choice execute ImageCache: Generate ALL presets for this node\'s filefield images (imagecache_generate_all_action) in 4 element.
3) Illegal choice execute ImageCache: Flush ALL presets for this node\'s filefield images (imagecache_flush_action) in 4 element.

Some bug?

Same issue...
Disabling the "Actions permissions" module, seems working. I don't know the consequences of that... still testing...

The comment in #2 and fact that this isn't a problem for more imagecache users makes it seem like this is not an imagecache specific problem. I've seen it before when: 1) I log out/in after opening a form in a second tab 2) the form is simply too large. I suggest looking for solutions somewhere other than imagecache.
