Is it normal to only work when your logged in? I log out and the notes on the image do not show up. I looked for a permissions setting. Am I missing something? Is there a way to make the numbers show up when you are logged out?

It should work for anonymous user, can you check for any javascript errors, clear all caches and see if the javascript files are loaded.

I tested and it works for me when I visit the site as an anonymous user. As said in #1, can you check for js errors, clear caches and check if the js files are loaded?

In my case, that due to the version of jQuery.
I create a patch to support jQuery 1.8+.
