Location module or gmap module problem

Not sure if it is a problem with either of the modules or just something that can't be fixed. It's when you have "Collapsed" set as "Display the location box collapsed." the map in firefox and chrome doesn't really display, it just shows a little of it and the rest is greyed out. I have run into this problem before when trying to add a googlemap on a ajax loaded page and I ended up having to add a iframe to the ajax page and add the map to the iframe. Any ideas or it's just something that can't be fixed and will have to switch to uncollapsed by default ?
