First of all, let me congratulate the contributors to Flexinode. What an exceptionally cool and useful module. I am trying to customize it a bit to see if it will support one of our client's requirements. There are is a feature which would solve our problem:

Provide an "Input Mask" field when adding new fields to a content type.

  • The input mask would assist with field validation such as ###-##-####. I know its probably asking for a lot but it would be great if input mask supported required components and non-required components similar to Microsoft Access' Input Mask feature. This could be used to validate a postal codes, national identification numbers, telephone numbers or even an email address.

Thanks in advance and again, what a great addition to Drupal!

Cheers,

Andy Rutherford

I have put some thought into this one. I think the easiest/fastest solution is to allow a regular expression for the validation of input. Someone (walkah? moshe?) suggested defining a hook for validation of a field. This would be even more flexible, but loses the ability to define everything through the admin interface.

$validation = flexinode_invoke('validate', $field, $node); is called. A field can do its validatation
