I just wanted to note that I started a project for Juicebox integration with Drupal 7. Juicebox (http://www.juicebox.net/) is a potential successor to simpleviewer (made by the same people) that is based on fully responsive HTML5 concepts (cross-device friendly and no flash).
The project is at: http://drupal.org/project/juicebox
I was initially exploring some options to port this flash gallery module, or the simpleviewer module, to D7, while adding views support. However I soon realized that going forward it probably makes the most sense to simply start from scratch and focus on Juicebox instead of simpleviewer. As of writing my sandbox module is probably not much more than a proof-of-concept, but it supports a working view style plugin that allows arbitrary views to be formatted as Juicebox galleries. I'm hoping to explore a number of other integration scenarios and develop this concept into a formal Drupal project in the near future. I figure that anyone interested in Simpleviewer integration may be interested in this, so I'm hoping to somewhat cross-promote my module with this flash gallery module, and would very much be interested in any thoughts or comments that anyone might have.

rjacobs commentedThe Juicebox module build effort has evolved enough that I felt comfortable promoting it to a full project. So it's now at:
http://drupal.org/project/juicebox
Would it make sense to place a note on the Flash Gallery project page about this so that people interested in Drupal 7 galleries can easily find the Juicebox alternative?
I'll also try to follow-up in this queue when there is a full release available.
