My users are inclined to add files as attachments instead of making them nodes first and then attaching them. Unfortunately this means that the files usually have useless titles (the file name by default) and no description.

I would like to add a feature to this module that allows you to enter these fields for the case when you are attaching a new file from your local drive. If anyone thinks they have 1)A strategy for how to accomplish this and/or 2) thinks they can do it fast, I could compensate.

otherwise I'm just going to figure this out in the coming week and see if miglius is interested in patching it in! I think this will be a nice usability improvement.

So I've looked into this further. It turns out that file node titles can be updated as long as the taxonomy autotagger is disabled. Otherwise the file titles cannot be changed from their default (the original file name). Miglius, if you have any insight into why this might be, let me know.

Also, I'm going to try to add a field for a real file description (node body) beyond the "description" given which is really the node title.
