I just installed the Filedepot Module yesterday.
I am interested in using the email notification feature. I set up a folder and restricted it to people with the Board Member ROLE. I then uploaded a file and set the checkbox to send a notification to the users who have access (i.e. all users with the Board Member role, including a test user I created with the board member role. But no emails were sent.
When I checked the Recent Log messages on the site I found the following:
TYPE filedepot
DATE Wednesday, June 3, 2015 - 17:33
USER #########
LOCATION http://www.#######.org/filedepot/ajax/newfile
REFERRER http://www.#######.org/filedepot/folder/4
MESSAGE filedepot_sendNotification (1) - no target users
SEVERITY notice
So, my question is: why are there no "target users". All users with the "Board Member" role should get notifications, right? None of them is.
FYI, I am not using Organic Groups on this site.

alxshell commentedSame constellation, same issue here.
After sending Broadcast message, the success-Alertbox even contains the correct amount of users, that are subscribed. But no E-Mails are going out.
BUT I am receiving a notification only to the Mail specified at "Default To email address" in the filedepot-settings.
Need urgent Bugfix for that, because Messaging is a keyfeature of filedepot, which is not working. So priority -> Critical.

blainelang commentedI don't agree on marking this urgent as there is no data loss. Additionally, this issue has not been verified or reported before and this module has been stable for years.

alxshell commentedHi Blaine,
thank you for answering. Sorry for the priority-change. You are right, there is no data-loss, but an information-loss. Users are not notified of file changes or updates.
Hope to find a solution soon. If you need more data just ask :)

alxshell commentedHi alltogether,
I tested all day now and found the reason why no E-Mails went out :
I use the Mail System Module and selected "MimeMailSystem" as "Site-wide default MailSystemInterface class". That corrupted in a way the filedepot-mail-handling. As I changed it to "DefaultMailSystem" everything worked fine.
