The original ldap_feeds module was once part of the ldap module in D7. It was dropped in favour of a simpler periodic update mechanism not reliant on feeds. See Port LDAP Feeds submodule to Drupal 8 for details. This is a port of that submodule for more complex use cases than the normal LDAP sync. Feeds offers more flexibility than the built in periodic update mechanism. For example, it can be used to map more advanced attributes through the UI, map users from multiple queries and map the result of LDAP queries to entities besides users.
