As far as I could tell this is not possible now but please forgive me if I am wrong.

Allow users without administrative access to attach images to their orders.

This would be useful for making custom tee shirts, coffee mugs, greeting cards, etc with customer submitted images, a la http://www.cafepress.com/cp/customize/ or http://www.zazzle.com/

You would need to develop a custom product which will allow the uploading of the image.

When you say that I would need to develop a custom product do you mean using the custom.module that is in cvs or do you mean that I would need to develop my own?

The reason I ask is is that I am not really programmer and would not be able to create my own module with my present skills. If you are talking about using the custom.module then I would be able to help test it out.

since ecommerce now supports any kind of node as a product, you dont need this ecommerce feature anymore.
