jhodgdonExcellent idea!
Would it also make sense to have a "group home" in the Community section for these things?
rachel_norfolkWe are indeed looking to create a "group home" as well as the additions to the /community "Find my Place" page.
Looking at the sections on /community, though, I do wonder if it would actually be better to add content to the already created sections that direct users when:
I think we should add a GSoC, a GCI and GSoD component in each of those.
Any thoughts?

rachel_norfolkAdding links to the issues that relate to the sections we could update:
#3006698: Add Section Heading “contribute documentation to the Drupal Project”
#3005071: Add Section Heading “contribute code to the Drupal Project”

rachel_norfolkYou know what - I've had second thoughts on this and maybe it *should* be a section all on its own. It is different enough from other mentoring to warrant a section all of its own right now.
In the medium term, I do think we need to look across the whole project and how we organise mentoring - at events, online generally and through things like GSoC. That's for another discussion elsewhere, though.
In this case, this is now mostly ready to roll. I'd like to see reference to the community/group/gsoc to explain who is involved in this text. When that section is up and ready, and the links are added, we can add this
Comment #6
jhodgdonI agree that the Google* things are related to, but seem separate from, general mentoring.
I'm a bit confused as to what more is needed for this section. Each of the 3 Google* things includes a link to the groups.drupal.org group for it. Does it need to be reformatted so it follows the template?

rachel_norfolkFYI @jhodgdon, Matthew is creating Drupal.org/community/gsoc to hold an overview of the organisation of GSOC etc, the people involved and so on. I'd like to see that reflected in the text and then I can add it to the community page.

jhodgdonOh great! Sorry for my confusion. :)

rachel_norfolkWaiting to see whether Michael wants this section adding.
